Lost Ones is an animal fantasy featuring wolf protagonists. It follows a female wolf named Blood Heart who struggles with her traumatic past and the death of her close childhood friend. After her friend’s death, she meets a wolf named Jagged Tooth. They become extremely close after her friend dies in a battle between Blood Pack and Thunder Pack. This sets up the future plot as Thunder Pack ruthlessly hunts her and her new friends—Crescent Claw, Scarpelt, Jagged Tooth, and Fox Claw. Together, they fight, struggle, and pursue a prophecy they know almost nothing about.
In an effort not to spoil the book and its whole plot, I’m trying to keep this as vague as possible. In the first few chapters, the grammar is patchy, like that of a writer still finding her style for the first time. You can tell the writer poured her whole heart into this project, though, because as the book progresses the grammar becomes more refined and polished, matching the majestic flow of the book’s aesthetic nature. I’m happy to give this book 4.5/5 stars—it is definitely worth reading! You can find it on Amazon if you want to check it out.
